“I come here most days of the week. Coming here gives you a safe environment and a guaranteed plate, especially if you don’t eat all day.”
Nick has been coming to CK for a meal and support for over 4 years. “My aunt told me about CK one day, and I just went, and I never stopped.”
Without a stove or a refrigerator in his current living arrangement, Nick relies on our daily meal and take-home bag of food. “Everybody deserves a meal.”
He’s currently looking for a job and leans on CK for supportive services and a sense of community in addition to our meals.
“It’s a good atmosphere. It’s a place of peace. I always have a positive experience with the volunteers and staff. I like talking to Amanda in the dining room and if I need to get something done, I usually talk to Hayde and she’ll help me out. She has helped me apply for my ID and other benefits, like SNAP. She helps make the process faster and it’s always been a positive friendship with her.”
