Cathedral Kitchen Training Program specifications and requirements
All program applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be available to attend class full time for 15 weeks from Monday through Friday from 8:30am-3:00pm.
- Be willing to complete all reading and written assignments as assigned by the chef instructor, guest instructors.
- Be interested in and eligible to work full time in the food service industry.
- Must not have any outstanding arrest warrants.
- Be able to speak, read and understand English in a fast paced atmosphere.
- Be able to stand for 4 hours minimum and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Course Information:
- The program is a 15 week course; attendance from 8:30 am–3:00pm Monday through Friday is mandatory.
- Course includes basic culinary skills, hands-on practice in essential cooking methods and techniques, and certification in ServSafe food safety and sanitation.
- There is no tuition cost for the program; students will receive textbooks, uniforms and meals, plus assistance with job placement at no cost.
Application process:
- We accept applications on a rolling basis. Classes take place 3 times a year.
- Attendance at one of our offered information sessions is required to enroll in the program.

- Interviews with members of the CK staff will take place at each information session. Students will be notified of their acceptance into the program by phone.
