What is a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF?)

A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is a charitable giving account that allows you to set aside funds for philanthropy while potentially receiving tax benefits today. Once money is invested in a DAF, you may be eligible for a tax benefit right away. Funds in a DAF can be invested and grow tax-free. You can recommend grants from your DAF to nonprofits that you support.

Donor-advised funds are the fastest-growing charitable giving vehicles in the United States because they are one of the easiest and most tax-advantageous ways to give to charitable organizations.

You can open a DAF account with investment banks like Fidelity and Vanguard Charitable, or through community foundations like the Community Foundation of South Jersey.

Why Give with a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)?
